PLASMA TECHNOLOGY

Plasma is the fourth material following solids, liquids, and gases, and is a state in which gas molecules are divided into ions and electrons due to strong electrical forces.

To generate plasma, about 100,000 degrees of energy must be applied to the gas particles.
Electrons accelerated by applying electrical energy collide with gas particles to produce neutrons, ions and electronic forms of plasma.

Application in Medical Field

  • The wavelength generated when generating plasma varies from an ultraviolet region to a visible ray region.

Cold atmospheric pressure(CAP) plasma has been proven in several studies in an effective way for sterilization of Bacteria, Fungi and Viruses, and there is no evidence for resistance of microorganisms. A 2-minute CAP treatment with plasma has been effective against a variety of bacteria including important skin and wound pathogens such as Escherichia coli, group A Streptococcus, Methicillinresistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Also the killing of clinically relevant fungal strains by CAP has been shown in vitro.
